Featured article Shy Guys, alternatively formatted as Shy-Guys, are a recurring enemy in the Yoshi franchise and its parent Mario franchise. They are recognizable by their masks, which they wear due to their shyness. Shy Guys appear in many colors, but are usually colored red. In the Yoshi franchise, Shy Guys make their debut in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. However, they made their first overall appearance in Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic, but were eventually implemented into the Mario franchise when the game was released overseas as Super Mario Bros. 2.
