Egg Throw is an action that Yoshi can perform in most Yoshi games. Yoshi needs to first obtain a Yoshi Egg to use this move. Yoshi can make Yoshi Eggs by eating enemies. It is normally used on enemies, although it can be used for other things, too, such as switches.

Notable appearances[edit]

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island[edit]

The Egg Throw first appeared in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. The player must hold the X button (R in the GBA remake) and then aim the egg to where he or she wants the egg to go.

Yoshi's Story[edit]

In Yoshi's Story, the Egg Throw action is no different than the one in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, except for the player holds the Z button to aim the egg. An Egg Throw is needed to pop a Bubble Pop.

Yoshi's Island DS[edit]

Yoshi's Island DS controls the exact same as the last two counterparts, but players must press the X button to start aiming.

Super Smash Bros.[edit]

It appears as his up special in all of the games he appears in. On air, it gives him an extra jump, but he has to wait 2 seconds to recharge. On the ground, it's the same, but does not let Yoshi jump.
