Spike is a enemy in the Yoshi series debuting in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, it is a Koopa that wears a black shell on their back they originally debuted in Super Mario Bros. 3.

Spike (Mace Penguin) first appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, they are only encountered in the level BLIZZARD!!! it remains stationary and attacks Yoshi by regurgitating a spike ball and throwing it which rolls along the ground upon impact it can be defeated with any form of attack.

Yoshi's Story

Spike (Gabon) reappears in Yoshi's Story, it behaves the same as it did in the previous game if the spike ball reaches a hill it will roll along the ground they are only encountered in the level Jungle Hut.
